A new tourism brand for the Ukhahlamba District of the Eastern Cape, which was launched at the Ukhahlamba Tourism Indaba on 24 June, has been met with warm approval from the tourism industry.

Local municipality mayors from the area shared the district’s opinion that the “Eastern Cape Highlands – The Wild Side of the Drakensberg” brand will go a far way toward galvanising tourism growth in the area.

Ms Richardson has participated in several races, including the fabled Comrade’s Marathon, and has been an athlete for more than 30 years.

For those children less inclined to spend their morning pounding the asphalt, the Metlife Mall Fun Run had a wide variety of entertainment on offer, including the popular bumper cars and a jumping castle.  There was music and giveaways for the crowd.
